Job Summary

As Swine Nutritionist you will collaborate with Ralco sales team members in promoting Ralco’s technologies, programs, products, and services swine accounts in all channels.  Much of your time will be devoted toward gaining and supporting swine customers of varying size, feed mills and regional manufacturers.

You must be able to effectively communicate with all Ralco business units and build and foster relationships among swine industry companies, academic institutions, veterinary professionals, nutritional consultants, and other influencers.  It is necessary that you work with sales, product management, regulatory, operations, finance, and customer service to develop opportunities and meet the customer’s needs.

Key Work duties and Required Skills:

  1. As a member of the swine technical team, you must foster teamwork among all members of the swine technical team, sales, and marketing organizations and other Ralco operational and business units and personnel. 
  2. You will be involved in the recruitment and onboarding process of new swine technical team members.  It is important for you to assist with ongoing training and mentoring of members of the swine technical team and other Ralco personnel.
  3. In collaboration with your supervisor, you will develop a unique professional development plan to ensure that you are pursuing and fulling your professional and personal goals in a diligent and thoughtful manner.
  4. You are expected to represent Ralco at supplier, industry and academic meetings and conferences.  You also have a responsibility to effectively share the most relevant information gained from these meetings with all members of the swine technical team. 
  5. In collaboration with sales management, you will be involved in exposing and training Ralco’s internal customers in the technical merits of Ralco’s swine technologies, programs, and products.
  6. Collaborate with sales management and sales personnel identify and pursue swine accounts and/or appropriate national and regional manufacturers. Seek to understand the needs of these customers in the event that there is a need to create customized solutions to their needs. 
  7. You may be required to support Ralco’s international business units.
  8. Collaborate with sales management and sales personnel to identify and pursue swine and feed mill customers.  Seek to understand the needs of these customers in the event that there is a need to create customized solutions to their needs. 
  9. Assist sales management and sales team members to ensure current accounts receive technical services and customer care that meets or exceed expectations. 
  10. Be proactive in innovating, developing, validating, and commercializing new technologies that provide solutions and increase the profitability of Ralco and its customers.
  11. Collaborate with the swine technical team members and other Ralco personnel to ensure that a Swine Research Forward Plan is developed each year and that the projects are appropriately prioritized and executed. 

Job Requirements:

Education:        PhD or MS in Swine Nutrition

Experience:       5+ years of industry experience. Experience in swine production is preferred.

General:           Satisfactorily complete introductory period per company policy.

Physical:           The following activities are required as needed to perform the job function; lifting, driving, bending, climbing, carrying, and twisting. Travel:              This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites worldwide.
