Aquaculture Technical Business Development Manager
Ralco - International Department | Based in Ecuador or Chile | Full-time

The Opportunity
The global aquaculture industry is at an inflection point. Antibiotic reduction mandates, mounting disease pressure, and growing demand for clean-label seafood are creating urgent, underserved demand for natural solutions — and Ralco is positioned to lead that charge.
We're looking for a scientifically credible, commercially driven professional to own and grow our aquaculture business across Latin America and beyond. This is a rare role that combines deep producer relationships with a direct line into product innovation — you'll identify the problems the industry hasn't solved yet and help shape the solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a portfolio of producer, distributor, and feed company accounts across Latin America, with reach into Asia Pacific, Europe, and the United States
  • Deliver exceptional technical service and field support that drives adoption of Ralco's natural aquaculture product portfolio
  • Identify unmet producer challenges — disease, feed efficiency, biosecurity — and translate them into product innovation opportunities for Ralco's corporate R&D team
  • Design and coordinate field trials with producers; communicate results in ways that drive both commercial adoption and product development
  • Develop and support distributor and feed company channel partners with training, tools, and on-the-ground presence
  • Serve as the technical face of Ralco with key customers, industry partners, and at global aquaculture conferences
Required Skills/Abilities
  • PhD required in Marine Biology, Aquaculture Science, Marine Chemistry, Animal Nutrition, or a closely related field.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on industry experience in aquaculture or marine biotech — field trial experience is essential.
  • Deep expertise in aquatic animal nutrition, microbiology, and disease management.
  • Proven experience with salmon and shrimp production; both species are essential.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish — professional proficiency required in both.
  • Strong commercial instincts — you can connect a scientific outcome to a producer's bottom line.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally. Significant international travel required, including Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the United States.
  • Aligns with Ralco's Values and Purpose
    • Values: Courageous Curiosity, Driven to Deliver, Master your Craft, Root for the Team, People Matter Most, Keep It Simple.
    • Purpose: Ralco creates effective natural solutions that address agriculture's greatest challenges.
Why Ralco
Ralco is a growth-stage natural solutions company with a clear mission: deliver effective, science-backed products that address agriculture's greatest challenges. This role offers the autonomy of an entrepreneurial environment with the resources of an established innovation platform — and the opportunity to build something meaningful in one of the world's fastest-growing food sectors.
