Job Responsibilities
- Research Trial Execution
- Lead and perform livestock care, feeding, data collection, and sampling activities
- Assist with animal acquisition and removal.
- Entry of data collected into Excel
- Communicate trial status and concerns to Innovation Research Manager
- Maintain up to date Standard Operating Procedures for audit compliance and training
- Act as the liaison between the Animal Welfare Committee and Innovation Team
- Laboratory Management
- Perform and guide laboratory techniques, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Execute sample testing for research, product development, ingredient analysis, and quality control.
- Prepare samples for external laboratory testing and distribute results.
- Maintain results log for internal and external samples
- Notify team members of any out-of-specification ingredients or products.
- Manage inventory of all supplies needed to execute research and lab services testing for internal products and customers
- Team Leadership & Development
- Oversee daily activities of Research & Development Technicians and interns.
- Train new team members on all data collection and laboratory procedures
- Foster collaboration across departments and maintain effective communication.
- Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Coordinate facility maintenance and scheduling of staff and resources.
- Implement calibration and maintenance programs for testing equipment.
- Continuous Improvement
- Continuously improve testing procedures and lab efficiency.
- Proactively seek opportunities for self-development and contribute to Ralco’s overall goals.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment calibration.
- Data entry and reporting skills (tables, graphs, presentations).
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Independent, proactive problem-solving approach.
- Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
- Competence in livestock handling and care.
- Familiarity with research protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems.
