Job Summary

As Sales Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for growing sales in Ralco’s swine producer accounts in SE Iowa. You will look for opportunities to maximize the profit potential of current accounts in addition to leveraging your industry connections and relationships to establish new accounts. You will serve as their account manager and ensure a great customer experience and will leverage the range of Ralco products and services across our various brands to bring solutions to your accounts.

You must be able to communicate well with a broader team as you serve as lead of the account team. You will work with our distribution partners to assist in coordinating the efficient flow of products to customers in their territories. You will work with technical, product management, regulatory, operations, finance and customer service to develop opportunities and meet the customers’ needs. You must also work well with the executive staff and business unit managers to define target accounts and define goals and approaches for these accounts. You will be responsible for the Income Statement relative to sales and profitability of your assigned accounts. This job description is not meant to be all inclusive and duties may vary based on departmental and company needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Identify new direct swine accounts: listen and ask the right questions, and structure a message and a solution that meets the customer’s needs
  2. Increase product penetration and sales volume with existing accounts
  3. Calls on existing and potential customers regarding product information, use, and analysis to maximize profit potential across all product lines while providing customer support
  4. Participates at trade association meetings and shows in and outside territory to promote Ralco products and services
  5. Advises customers on policies, operating procedures, and incentives to insure functional effectiveness of business
  6. Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service
  7. Communicate well with other areas of the business to ensure you are working within established programs, pricing and distribution
  8. Evaluate immediate opportunities within accounts that may require product development activities
  9. Work with marketing and technology to plan effective communication to these direct swine accounts
  10. In collaboration with your supervisor you will develop a unique professional development plan to ensure that you are pursuing and fulling your professional and personal goals in a diligent and thoughtful manner.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Ag-Business related field or matching experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of responsibility in a role of sales or marketing.
  • General: Satisfactorily complete introductory period per company policy.
  • Location: Preferably living within the territory of this position (SE Iowa).
  • Physical: The following activities are required as needed to perform the job function; lifting, driving, bending, climbing, carrying and twisting. Confined space entry is not a required job function.
  • Travel: This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America. Due to travel requirements, a valid driver’s license is required for this position.
